Today was weigh in day & I finally made it to the 50 pound mark! I have officially lost 51.5 pounds!!!! I am so excited!!! Can ya tell???
As it stands right now, I am at 230 pounds. My ideal goal is to be down to 150 pounds. That means I have 80 more to go. Sounds like a lot, but I will get there. I'm losing approximately 2 pounds a week - of course some weeks are higher and some lower. Since I started this journey, I have only gained one pound one week. I think that is saying a lot. I am doing this gradually so that I will be more successful and have a better chance of it working. This is truly a change in lifestyle. I don't think of this as dieting. Thank you Weight Watchers and all my friends who are supporting me or going through the journey with me.
For Valentine's Day, my sweetie brought home a huge card with a note and money attached. The note said - "now go buy some smaller clothes"!!! I was brought to tears. To have him really notice what I was doing meant so much.
I did go this week and pants one size smaller - almost to two sizes, but not quite! My tops are one or two sizes smaller depending on the shirt. It was so nice to be able to know that I could now shop on the average size side of the store - no more plus sizes!!!! YES!!!!!

Weight Loss Journey (2)
Today was weigh in day. I am down 2 pounds this week - that makes a total loss of 46.5 lbs. Yay me!!!!
What did I do right this week? I am still with our Weight Watchers group at work! This is a big plus for me for motivation and accountability. I watched my portions. I made sure that I didn't overindulge when I plated my meals. I took it easy and only took what I thought was a true portion. I also made sure to divvy out any snacks into appropriate portions - according to serving size and points - into individual baggies. This made it easier to grab a snack when I needed it; Planning my meals ahead of time also helped me this week. I only did it for 2 days at a time, but knowing what I was eating and making sure I had what I needed made all the difference. Because - when in doubt & when I don't have meals or snacks planned out, I grab the quickest and easiest food I have available, and sometimes that might not be what I should have (or I'll over eat).
What could I have done better with? I did not track consistently this week. Although I did plan my meals, I did not track them. I will say my planning paid off and allowed me to still get a loss on the scale, but I think that can be the luck of the draw sometimes when not tracking. I did not know how many of my weekly allowance I had used or what I had left. What a disaster that could have been. At one point this week, I indulged in a big pasta salad, and I was concerned I would gain this week - from the time I had my first bite until weigh in. However, I must have been within my weekly allowance, and everything turned out OK.
What will I work on this week? This week, I will track!!! I am not going to leave a doubt about anything. I will know if I do well, and if I mess up. I need to start including some movement / exercise into my week. Up until now, my weight loss can be attributed to a change in lifestyle in the are of food and eating. The next step yet to be included is the exercise. My plan is to walk. This is my favorite exercise. I used to do it all the time, and enjoyed it. I have made an excuse up to now that it is cold, wet, or snowing, and I don't want to deal with that. Excuses are gone. I am committing to walking a minimum of 15 minutes twice a week. I will build from there.
So, off I go on my journey. Here's to a great week!

Weight Loss Journey
I am really working hard on losing some weight! I started last year with a group at work through Weight Watchers. I was not sure how it would work, but I have very successful so far.
I hate to admit this, but when we first started, I was clocking in at 281 pounds. YUCK!!! I was very unhealthy, tired all the time, and just plain miserable. Yesterday, we began our second 10 weeks, and I am down to 239 pounds - a 42 pound loss!!!!! I am so happy, and feeling so much better! I can't wait to see what this 10 weeks brings me.
I know that everyone is different, and that Weight Watchers might not work for everyone, but it has helped me immensely. I have learned to look at food differently. I have learned to look at that nutrition label and see what I am eating. I am learning to make choices, and balance what I eat. Weight Watchers really is a change of lifestyle, and not really a diet. I do eat what I want - I just make sure I count the points. Portion control is very important. This is another piece of information that I have learned to use from the nutrition label. I am using those serving sizes! I am never hungry, and am eating healthier!
I will say that the meetings make a difference. I tried Weight Watchers Online in the past, but didn't succeed. I need the accountability of others at that meeting.
One big piece of advice I would pass on to anyone on a similar journey: set up your environment (in my case, my kitchen), so that you don't have those things that might tempt you. If you have to have them in the house (for loved ones), hide them out of sight.
