Opportunity At It's Best

I have only been blogging since the beginning of January of this year.  I must say that in doing so, that I have been given quite an opportunity.  Blogging was something I have thought about for several years, but it took me a while before I finally felt comfortable and found the niche that I wanted to work from.

Blogging about book, and sharing my passion for reading has opened up opportunity after opportunity.  First, I was given the ability to share my thoughts in a public forum.  I find this quite liberating, eye-opening, and a freedom I never knew I had.  I have been given the opportunity to become part of a wonderfully creative and welcoming community.  Book bloggers are the best.  I have learned so very much in the short time I have been actively blogging. I thought I would simply be sharing my thoughts on books and reading, well, I have learned far more than I offer - about books, blogging, publishing, and so much more.

One of the greatest opportunities that I have been able to take advantage of is new-to-me books from new-to-me authors.  I have been able to find books that I may never have found it I had not taken the first step and written my first post.  I was unaware of just how many self-published, independent authors there are out there. It is amazing to find these authors and those that are with smaller publishing companies. This is not to diminish those with the more well-known publishers.  I have fallen in love with authors from across the spectrum.  There are some amazing authors out there that do not get the credit they deserve, and I hope I am able to help get them out there for others to find!


While I am only but one blogger of books, I know as a community, we can open doors, windows, and the world of books and reading to generations to come.
